Geeks Next Door review by Larry Cruz

Posted on May 16th, 2008 by Moderator in El Santo, Larry, comics, two stars

Better late then never. The Moderator contacted me some time ago to try out this nifty “Comic Fencing” format, but for whatever reason, I wasn’t ready to contribute until now. But beware, webcomic creators! El Santo is coming with his Shaolin shadowboxing and his Wu-Tang sword style to engage in a little comic fencing brouhaha.

Geeks Next Door review by Anthony Cardno

TalekynI’ll say right off the bat that I really enjoyed this. There. I took all the drama out of the review; you don’t have to wade through five or more paragraphs of my usual verbosity to get to the point.

The premise of the series is that Jessi and Matt are geeks who live together and are engaged. Complicating their daily existence is housemate Barry (who apparently is rich, still in college, and embodies the worst aspects of many fandoms), and Jessi’s buxom sister Maggie (Barry’s, and many fanboys’, object of lust).

Man, all this geek talk is giving me a mental wedgy and a hankerin’ for some Pocky. The review? Yeah, moving on…

Geeks Next Door review by Delos Woodruff

Posted on May 16th, 2008 by Moderator in Delos, Uncategorized, comics, three stars

Delos Geeks Next Door is an exaggerated semi-autobiographic comic featuring four main characters. They are each very individual, with geekish likes and dislikes. Two are engaged, one is family and the other is a close friend whose parents prepaid five years of rent. That gives a decent mix of interactions for themes and storylines to work from. The gags are the sorts of things that happen in daily life if you’re a geek.

Geeks Next Door review by Jay Slay

Posted on May 16th, 2008 by Moderator in Jay, comics, one star

Jay Slay, the DoctorThis week’s review deals with Geeks Next Door, a webcomic done in the finest tradition of “overused cliché” meets “very low grade anime.” Even a cutting edge (heh) show like Teen Titans would be ashamed of this comic.

That’s pretty straightforward, isn’t it?
